I recently read Swimming to Antarctica and shared a few of my takeaways.  However, it wasn't until I explained the book to my wife that I realized my biggest takeaway.

In describing the book I said, "Basically, the book is about her swims. Each story goes like this: she decides to do something really hard. At some point things go terribly wrong. She considers quitting, but pushes through. Then she finishes."

It hit me. That's a GORUCK. You decide to do something hard (A tough, a heavy, maybe a HTL). During it, something will go terribly wrong. You'll probably consider quitting a time or two. But, you push through. Then you finish.

Seems to be just that simple.
